Scanlon is a working actor, writer and visual artist. She has had recurring roles on HBO’s GETTING ON, playing the quirky union re Paula Pepperell and on FX’s BETTER THINGS as the artsy friend of Pamela Adlon’s Sam. Scanlon’s play WHAT IS THIS EVERYTHING is published by Best Women Playwrights by Smith and Kraus, and premiered at the Westbank Cafe, starring James Gandolfini. Her play DEATH OF A SALESGIRL was nominated and received numerous LA WEEKLY awards. Her stage serial HILDY HILDY ran for 3 seasons in NY’s Cucaracha theater and was produced as a play at SOHO REP directed by Lisa Peterson and starring herself and John C. Reilly. HILDY HILDY later ran for 3 seasons at LA’s Evidence Room and was later produced as a play by Lily Tomlin and Jane Wagner and went on to become an animated series picked up for development by TBS. Animated by award winning animator Dan Lund and produced by Flody Suarez and Courtney Conte. Scanlon’s solo piece ANOTHER CUP OF COFFEE has been performed at numerous venues, including the NYC’s Westbank Cafe, Public Theater, Lucy Fest in Lucille Ball’s hometown of Jamestown, NY.
